Bible History: New Testament
Youth confirmation (catechesis) classes for the 2026-2027 school year begins August 23th. This year, students are focusing on the New Testament, taking a deeper dive into 40 individual stories that span the Annunciation of Jesus through Saint Paul's encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. In addition, they will memorize several parts of the Small Catechism, including the Ten Commandments, Apostles' Creed, and Lord's Prayer with explanations; and numerous Bible verses. The goal is that they will increase in faith, enhance their knowledge and understanding of God’s word, and be instilled with a lifelong faithfulness to Jesus Christ.
This year we are excited to announce that in order to strengthen overall congregational catechesis, we are using God's Hand in Our Lives, which follows the same schedule as our Sunday School and ensures families are studying the same stories together up through 8th grade.
As Jesus Himself said, "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me," (John 5:39).
On weeks when there is a midweek service (i.e. during Advent and Lent), students will join the Fellowship Dinner at 6:00 p.m. and attend the service at 7:00 p.m.
